Our Duck hunting is second to none! These guided hunts take place in fields & over small bodies of water.

Todd Paul & Wade Paul had never shot that many species of Ducks in one hunt. Their limit of ducks consisted of 2 Canvasbacks, 2 Mallards, 2 Bluebills, 2 Gadwalls, 2 Greenwing Teal, and 2 Widgeons. The field hunt on the left produced colorful drake Mallards & Widgeons.

Our usual morning starts between 5-6 a.m. with hot coffee & toast. The morning shoots for Geese & Ducks usually last until mid morning, and then it is back to the house for a big brunch. The afternoons and evenings can be spent hunting ducks, walking for Pheasants, practicing at our trap range, or taking a nice "siesta".

The Seanger crew, left-above, had a limit shoot on divers and finished off the morning by tagging two Tundra Swans. The Teskey family, left, with Ringnecks, Redheads, & Bluebills.

Canadian Geese are abundant in our Waterfowl area with the majority being giant Canadas. The fields that we hunt in are usually harvested wheat, barley, SoyBean, or Corn fields. Large spreads of decoys (full body, silhouettes, rags, and Goose Magnets) are used in field shoots for Geese. Floating Duck & Goose decoys, as well as several Spinning wing decoys are used for small potholes & big water. Opening day for the Non-resident Waterfowl season will probably be Oct. 4th, 2008. The best hunting lasts until the lakes freeze over, which is usually in late November.

Steve Jellie stands behind some of his big Northern Mallards during his Duck & Deer combo hunt in mid November.

Jim & Jon Holland booked a father/son hunt with us shooting Ducks & Pheasants while on their hunt. Good quality, waterproof camo outfits are a must on our hunts. Max 4-D, Advantage Wetlands, & Shadow Grass work best. 12 & 10 gauges are recommended. Lead shot has been banned in North Dakota for Waterfowl hunting, but can be used for Upland Game hunting. We are using high velocity steel loads of BBB's for Geese & Cranes, and 2's & 4's for Ducks. Good alternatives would be Tungsten Polymer, Bismuth, & Hevi-Shot loads.
